NuovoDoc Is Being Repaved.

The NuovoDoc site is being repaved to correct problems resulting from movement to a new web server.   At the same time, the site is being adjusted to use the latest styles and formats that are applicable to this and other sites of the nfoCentrale.net family.

Check the Site Repaving Project pages for additional details on the approach to repaving and its tracking.  Contact the technical coordinator with questions and to report any defects that you notice.

2004-06-01-11:19 Changeover to nfoCentrale HTML 4.01 Style (orcmid)
In preparation for shifting toward software development with the nfoWare initiative, bring over the new construction-section model and begin fitting the NuovoDoc site into the over-all nfoCentrale.net style.  All further history is found in the Construction Diary & Job Jar.
   
2002-01-30-11:08 Job Jar Requirement (orcmid)
I am not doing anything about this right now, but I notice some things that will be valuable here:
1. A Job Jar page in the construction section itself.
2. A styles page that specifies the styles used in this subWeb.  This can be verbal and could be expanded to involve server-time customization.
3. Templates on standard pages and subwebs for NuovoDoc.  These belong in the construction section as well as somewhere that FrontPage would use them.
4. A description of what is gone through to produce the current-calendar, with an eye to documenting what it takes to remove the Microsoft Office style definitions and still have a presentable web page.
 
2002-01-28-19:12 Begin Independent NuovoDoc.com Expansion (orcmid)
Additional updates are made here to expand NuovoDoc.com presence and usability.
1. On the compagno development system, the development web site for InfoNuovo.com has its NuovoDoc subweb deleted.  This removes all sharing and ensures that the tombstoning there is final.  The pages do remain on the site and on the image of the site used for FTP transfer.   The files are also still in the VSS repository for the image of the site.
2. The _vti_pvt directory that was created when the NuovoDoc subweb of the nfoCentrale.net development site was created as an official subweb was inadvertently shared and mirrored onto the production image.  It was deleted from the production image (and VSS), and also deleted at the bCentral nfoCentrale.net host.
3. The /_private directory that comes with NuovoDoc.com being made a subweb of nfoCentrale.net on the development site was also shared to the site image.  That directory will probably be used.  The appropriate construction pages are added to ensure that no directory of /_private content  is exposed.
4. Additional information from the tombstone site is added to this NuovoDoc site, appropriately reworded, to provide more information about what's here and what it is for.
 
2002-01-27-22:58 InfoNuovo.com/NuovoDoc Tombstoned (orcmid)
The NuovoDoc pages on InfoNuovo.com are tombstoned now that this mirror is available.  NuovoDoc.com is active and redirected to this nfoCentrale.net implementation of NuovoDoc.
1. The InfoNuovo.com/NuovoDoc pages are updated to guide visitors to this location.
2. All known shortcuts into the tombstoned NuovoDoc site are updated to refer to NuovoDoc.com.
3. Information about the tombstoning and the transition to nfoCentrale.net is placed at the tombstoned-site's index.htm and /construction section.
4. All of the pages that were mirrored here must be preserved, or else individually tombstoned.  The moment InfoNuovo.com is forwarded atop nfoCentrale.net, that same content, perhaps updated (or tombstoned), will be reachable.
5. There are no additional transition requirements for InfoNuovo.com/NuovoDoc.  The migration is complete and it remains for the switching of InfoNuovo.com to turn out the lights on that residual material.
 
2002-01-26-14:42 Create Construction Section at NuovoDoc Level (orcmid)
1. This section was created by copying a peer web's construction folder to here and then editing it as the construction folder for the NuovoDoc site or any mirror thereof.
2. This construction.htm page is edited into the correct style, form, and content.
3. The index.htm page is also edited to reflect its appearance here as part of an independently-mirrored NuovoDoc site.
4. The orcmid.htm page is updated to account for orcmid's activities on behalf of NuovoDoc.
